W., S. T. Knick, M. A. Schroeder, and S. J. Stiver. 2004. Conservation assessment of Greater Sage-grouse and sagebrush habitats. Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies. Unpublished Report. Cheyenne, Wyoming. Online_Linkage: http:\\sagemap.wr.usgs.gov Description: Abstract: Greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) have been declining for at least 25 years (Brahn 1995). Connelly et al. (2003) indicated monitoring was a major component of a sage-grouse monitoring program. This conservation assessment attempted to collect all information on current sage-grouse monitoring programs. This table is a summary of influences across the range-wide distribution of greater sage-grouse. They include "natural disturbances", agriculture, urban development, energy development, military training and recreation. Other influences, such as livestock grazing were not included in this analysis because a spatial estimate of area could not be developed due to the diffuse nature of the disturbance. Purpose: This table lists for the Greater sage-grouse Conservation Assessment area, the influences affecting the range-wide distribution of the greater sage-grouse. This dataset was created for the Conservation Assessment for Greater Sage-grouse and Sagebrush Habitats.
