  Description:
    Abstract: Harvest of greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) has occurred throughout recorded history.  Harvest occurs in 10 of the 11 western states in which they reside.  Based on recent research, it appears that because greater sage-grouse experience low mortality over winter, mortality from hunter harvest in September and October may not be compensatory to a large extent.  This table summarizes the hunting seasons for greater sage-grouse in 2003 for 10 western states; MT, ID, WY, NV, UT, CO, OR, CA, SD and ND.
    Purpose:
      This table summarizes, for the year 2003, the hunting seasons in 10 western states.
      This dataset was created for the Conservation Assessment for Greater Sage-grouse and Sagebrush Habitats.
